Fashion Does It Better Daily have been talking about the latest issue of Centrefold Magazine - The Vintage Issue. They said "[we] love the theme of the issue too and the way they explored it. Vintage is the key word but in such a sophisticated and contemporary way you can't feel the blast from past and it surely isn't ripping off the soul of another era. Actually it makes us think of the omega when you have a close look at the sign."

The main focus of the artlicle highlights the 'China Girl' model Nancy Williams, shot by Ben Weller but it seems the whole magazine seems to have gone down well in their offices "A few words on the magazine now, which certainly deserves its place in the spotlight tonight too... you love to have in your hands and at the office."

Dressed Up to the 9s will be showcasing some of their gorgeous gowns at a Charity Fashion Show on 7th May. The Fashion Show has been organised by Caroline Smith and will be held at the beautiful Wyck Hill House Hotel, near Stow-on-the-Wold. Caroline will be trekking along the Inca Trail in 2011 in order to raise money for Lionheart and and Marie Curie Cancer Care.

On arrival you be greeted with a drink and canapes then you'll get to sit back and watch models strut their stuff in some amazing outfits from local boutiques, businesses and of course, dresseduptothe9s.com Sounds like the perfect evening, plus it's for chairty... Lil Jon stopped by the Creative Recreation showroom earlier this week and tweeted a special thanks to the CR team. Musicians and TV personalities, Shwayze and Cisco Adler, also stopped by and had their hands full with their favorite kicks. High's and Low's of the 2010 Fashion Weeks

Highlights:

- Chanel show in Paris, last September it was a hay barn, this month... an iceberg! Apparently Chanel ‘borrowed’ an iceberg from Sweden on the premise that they will return it intact and to exactly the same place – I bet those yeti boots were looking very appealing to the audience!

- Fewer celebs at fashion shows – surely it’s about the clothes, not who’s sitting in the front row? Marc Jacobs (NYFW) front row had not one single celebrity in it...

- Mark Fast using plus size models in his London catwalk show (would have helped if he had given them their clothes in their actual sizes (12 & 14) rather than the size 8's!)

Lowlights:
- Topshop Unique trying to encourage us that animal antlers and masks will be the next big thing next Autumn... we gave in and wore neon, but antlers... really?

- Lindsey Lohan not turning up for her own 2nd catwalk show for Ungaro, leaving Estrella Arch to take a catwalk bow alone (the clothes weren’t great either!)

- Cold weather – the general weather theme at each fashion week – let’s hope it’s not a sign for next winter, we’re done with snow!

Last night was the biggest night in the movie industry calendar, and we saw A-List celebrities in more designer gowns for THE award ceremony of the season - the Oscars. Congratulations to all those that won one of the prestigious solid gold Oscars, but to be honest, we were more excited about who was wearing what and how on the red carpet (and the post-party gossip!)

So onto the clothes... the clothes choices generally reflected the theme of the evening: hollywoods golden era with classic, elegant pieces with a modern twist. Centrefold Magazine Issue 5 'Vintage' Launching this month!

Centrefold Magazine Issue 5 launches this month with its latest visual showcase of leading photographers, artists and designers within the creative industries. Issue 5, 'The Vintage Issue' is guest edited by Tom Lardner and showcases photographers such as Claire Shilland, Andrew G Hobbs, Iain McKell, Adam Whitehead and Ben Weller.

With styling from the likes of David Nolan, John Colver, Ye Young Kim and David Lamb the magazine cleverly and smoothly links together fantastic A2 photography encompassing the reoccurring themes of hedonism, youthful rebellion, lost innocence, sex, drugs and rock and roll music that defined the halcyon days of both British and U.S social history and still resonate with us today.

With some stunning images, ranging from editorial profiles to the slightly obscure, everytime you look through you notice a different shadow, angle and colour. It's a beautifully captivating piece of work and even the cover (below) is intoxicating. Illustrated by Michael Gilette who successfully re-animated the spirit of the notorious Oz Magazine.

Each set of images is unique, lending itself to Centrefold’s main ethos, which is to produce a collection of standalone A2 posters within one publication. Centrefold is a limited edition bi- annual publication designed so each issue wraps around the previous one, building each volume from the centre out.

Centrefold Issue 5 will be available at ArtWords, Magma, RD Franks and The Serpentine. We think it will be a fabulous addition to our coffee table!

Stitch Menswear Trade Show

Following our trip to the new menswear tradeshow STITCH yesterday we think these brands are the ones to watch... Social Suicide, H by Harris and D.S. Dundee. We can't wait to see what they're going to be producing over the new few seasons!

About the Show:

We went to Stitch yesterday at Old Billingsgate Market, the only dedicated menswear show on the UK fashion calendar. We got a chance to see the A/W2010 collections from design talents including Carolyn Massey, Deryck Walker, Peter Jensen, Tim Soar, H by Harris, Satyenkumar, Tillmann Lauterbach and many others. As well as a whole host of new brands and designers, there were the likes of Fenchurch, Lambretta, Never Ever, Bolongaro Trevor, Boxfresh and Rock Revival.

The show was broken down into four brand categories: denim edge, enegry and vision.

Denim - Jeans brands; and those in tune with the spirit of denim
Edge - Innovative brands that deliver classic or contemporary style
Energy - Authentic brands inspired by sport, music and performance
Vision - A showcase of emerging international talent in menswear design

Centrefold is a limited edition bi-annual art and fashion poster magazine launched in 2003 by photographer Andrew G Hobbs and Creative Director Warren Beeby. The first edition featured well known models of the time Clara Veiga, Omahyra, Claire Durkin and Lisa Ratcliffe. The project took off in 2005 and adapted to commissioning other artists and their interpretation on the Centrefold ethic. Each issue has a specific theme around which contributing artists, designers and photographers are commissioned for.

Each publication sees a new guest editor to bring a fresh focus to the magazine. Since 2003, Centrefold has showcased the talents of world – renowned and rising stars, from Lily Donaldson, Emma Hemming to Eliza Cummings and Daisy Lowe. It has also incorporated the creative visions of established and emerging photographers, including Kai Z Feng, Ian McKell, Mario Golewski and Jean Francois Carly. The involvement of design studios, Spin, BB Saunders, Sea Design and The Design Studio have helped to realise those visions, to produce the magazine Centrefold has become today. Guest editors have included Georgina Hodson ( Issue four) in association with Webber Represents, Mark Morrison (Issue 3) represented by Jed Root.
